A man armed with a semi-automatic handgun demanded money from an employee of a Safeway grocery store on the 6800 block of West Peoria Avenue in Peoria then simply walked out.
The male suspect went to the customer service desk of the Safeway where he put several items on the counter and then waited for an employee to assist him. Once the employee approached him the suspect lifted his shirt showing a semi-automatic handgun and demanded the money from the register, according to the Peoria police department.
Officers said that the employee complied with the suspect and gave him the money. The suspect then simply turned around and walked out of the store.
The suspect is described as a white man between 45 and 50 years old, 5'2" tall, weighing about 150 pounds with balding gray or brown hair. He was last seen wearing a green T-shirt with jeans and a dark-colored casual type shoe.
