Special Olympics hosts state Summer Games

ATLANTA (CBS46) -

The Special Olympics hosted its state Summer Games at Emory University.

The games attracted more than 1,800 athletes and coaches.

Competitions included aquatics, flag football, gymnastics, soccer and volleyball. All participants received a medal.

The events started on May 17 and will conclude on the 19th.

Special Olympics Georgia provides training and competitions for almost 26,000 adults and children with intellectual disabilities.
