Georgia Lottery players statewide won big from Saturday's historic $591 million Powerball drawing.
Winning tickets worth $1 million were sold at RaceTrac on Riverstone Parkway in Canton and Corner Cupboard on Milgen Road in Columbus.
Two of 17 winning tickets worth $10,000 were sold in Decatur with the others sold in Buford, Columbus, Lindale, Duluth, Savannah, Atlanta, Marietta, Buchanan, Calhoun, Carrollton, Hiram, Covington, Cumming, Mableton and an Internet wager winner.
One winning Powerball ticket worth $40,000 was sold in Augusta.
Phillip Goolsby, 32, of Atlanta, considers his half-million dollar windfall the best accident ever.
Goolsby intended to try his luck playing last week's Powerball and Mega Millions, but walked away with a $500,000 top prize from the Georgia Lottery instant game Jumbo Jumbo Bucks.
"I put in $20, but I intended to insert $10," he explained. "I couldn't get change, so I chose the ticket and scratched it in the car."
Goolsby intends to purchase a new home and invest the remainder.
"This is very ironic, but I have no complaints," Goolsby said.
Players statewide also won big from Friday's Mega Millions drawing.
Winning tickets worth $10,000 were sold in Dewy Rose, Alpharetta and Macon.
Both the Powerball and Mega Millions jackpots have been reset.
