ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -

A Decatur woman who was out with friends in Nashville, TN, during a bachelorette party is recovering at the Shepherd Spinal Center in Atlanta, after being hit by a suspected drunken driver the night of the party.

Nashville police said 25-year-old Angela Riley was hit by 23-year-old Ryan Moy in the early hours of May 11. Moy was arrested and charged with felony vehicular assault, leaving the scene of an accident involving personal injury and failure to render aid.

The bride-to-be said she and her girlfriends were having a great time in downtown Nashville, crossing from one bar to the next, when the accident happened.

"Angela was the last one to cross the street," said Amelia King, the bride-to-be and one of Angela's best friends. "A couple of the girls saw her get hit, I just heard a big thud, and turned around and she was on the ground. I just started screaming her name, trying to wake her up. There was some blood coming out of her nose, and a cut on her head. It was just a nightmare. It still doesn't seem real at times."

Police ran a blood-alcohol test on Moy after officers suspected he was driving under the influence.

Riley's friends have organized a benefit concert to help raise money for her hospital and rehabilitation bills. The Rally for Riley is scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday, May 25 at the Little Tree Rehearsal Studios in Avondale Estates.

Several local bands are scheduled to appear, and a $10 donation will be accepted at the door.
