Join CBS Atlanta News at Virginia Highland Summerfest

ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -

Join CBS Atlanta News as Virginia Highland Summerfest celebrates 30 years.

The two-day event runs from Saturday, June 1 to Sunday, June 2, and is located on Virginia Avenue between North Highland Avenue and Park Drive.

Summerfest kicks off with a 5K race Saturday morning at 8 a.m. Families can also join in on the fun with children's activities including arts and crafts, music and fun games in the KidsFest area located in John Howell Park, adjacent to Arcadia, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.

The juried Summerfest Artist Market is quickly becoming Atlanta's premiere art show, specializing in fine, folk, and unique art.You can find original art in many price ranges and media, including: Painting, Photography, Clay, Metal, Stone, Wood, Jewelry, Glass, Textiles, and Mixed Media.

The music stage will feature a variety of renowned local musicians along with nationally acclaimed singer songwriters. The music stage will be at Virginia Ave. and Greencove.

Saturday, June 1

1:45pm - 2:45pm: The Famous Buddies

3:15pm - 4:15pm: Radiolucent

4:45pm - 6:15pm: The Revivalists

6:45pm - 8:00pm: Jason Isbell

Sunday, June 2

12:15pm - 1:15pm: Atlanta Symphony Brass Quintet

1:30pm - 2:30pm: Galen Crader

3:00pm - 4:00pm: Sailing to Denver

4:30pm - 6:00pm: Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors

Admission to the fun is free, although donations to the Virginia Highland Civic Association are appreciated.
