DeKalb County police said they made an arrest in the shooting death of a taxi cab driver.

Dedric Darcelin was found shot to death in his cab at Oak Creek Apartments on Northern Avenue early Friday morning. Darcelin worked for Checker Cab Company.

The DeKalb County Sheriff Department's Fugitive Squad arrested Pharoh Swindle, 19, on Friday night at an apartment complex on Memorial Drive.

According to detectives, Darcelin was dispatched to the Auburn Avenue area in Atlanta to pick up Swindle and take him to 280 Northern Avenue.

At some point after arriving at the location, Swindle allegedly shot and killed Darcelin.

Officers responded to the scene after receiving 911 calls about shots being fired. That's when Darcelin was found slumped over the steering wheel.

Swindle is charged with one count of murder.

Detectives are investigating if Swindle is connected to any other crimes.
