There's been yet another delay in choosing a site for a new DeKalb County animal shelter.
Animal rights advocates packed in to a committee meeting Tuesday morning expecting a final location to be announced.
Instead, commissioners said they have narrowed the list to three; two on Lawrenceville Highway and the other near DeKalb-Peachtree Airport.
County commissioners admit the site selection process has dragged on, but promise they're close to making a big decision.
"I say these people have been absolutely fantastic to hold our feet to the fire as they should have. The process took entirely too long, but we are now moving in the direction to make a decision for sure," said DeKalb County Commissioner Kathy Gannon.
Commissioners asked the county staff to take a closer look at the three sites and report back in two weeks.
Animal advocates said they are frustrated, but have no choice but to be patient.
