Occupy Our Homes Atlanta attempts to get back foreclosed home

Posted: Updated:
LITHONIA, GA (CBS46) -

Occupy Our Homes Atlanta attempted to get a woman's home back on Monday night.

Toni Furman says on May 7 she was wrongfully evicted from her Lithonia home.

She says the lender could not foreclose on her deed because she attempted to get her loan modified.

Furman says she offered to make payments if the modification were approved.

She says the lender got her out of the home by foreclosing on a deed in someone else's name.

Furman says that's when she got help from Occupy Our Homes Atlanta.

"This is an alternative that is not a regular alternative, but this is an alternative that will force Cenlar Mortgage Company to negotiate with me and acknowledge that they have wrongfully foreclosed on me which is a crime."

Occupy Our Homes Atlanta says this is the third case they have handled like this one.
