MABLETON, GA (CBS46) -

A 4-year-old child who fell from the second-floor window of a home in Mableton is in stable condition. The accident happened around 10:40 a.m. at the home on Megcole Way.

Cobb County police said the air conditioning was off in the house and the windows were open. They believe the boy pushed the screen on the open window and fell onto the concrete driveway.

"It's tragic because that's a child and me being a parent, I wouldn't want anything like that to happen to one of my kids, let alone someone else's," neighbor Willie Miller said.

Miller saw emergency personnel swarm the neighborhood.

"The response was outstanding. I mean fire, police, ambulance, boom, boom, right on the spot. Great response, Miller said.

The boy was taken by medical helicopter to Children's Hospital at Scottish Rite. Neighbors said they're used to seeing the kids play out in the yard. Now they hope they'll see the boy back out there again soon.

"I hope he feels better and come back home, because they are good kids," neighbor Juan Diaz said.

"I'm praying that it's a great outcome, and I believe it will be," Miller said.

According to police, it was an accident. No foul play is suspected.
