Sandy Springs police are trying to find out who is responsible for two home invasions that occurred in Sandy Springs over a two week period.

The first incident happened before 11 p.m. on June 7.

A teenager was in the basement of his house along Heards Ferry Road, when he was confronted by a man wearing a black ski mask and white garden gloves.

The man had a black semi-automatic handgun, and the victim was tied with zip ties.

The victim said the suspects went through the house taking jewelry, and then quickly left.

The victim's brother said he saw a sedan pulling out of the circular driveway, as he pulled in.

The second home invasion was reported on June 19 along Powers Ferry Road in south Sandy Springs.

The homeowner reported that just after 10:30 p.m., he was in the kitchen when he was confronted by two men who had entered an open garage bay.

One suspect pulled a silver handgun and forced the victim to the master bedroom, where they bound him with zip ties on his arms and ankles.

The suspects demanded that he tell them where his jewelry was.

After several minutes, the victim was able to free himself and called the police.

Anyone with information on this or similar robberies are asked to contact Sandy Springs Police Criminal Investigation Unit, Detective Mike Tuvlin at 770-551-3312 or Detective Tiffanye Davis at 770-551-3317.
