ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -

Roswell-based Children's Restoration Network is collecting new backpacks and school supplies for thousands of metro Atlanta school children.

The organization is asking for the public to donate to more than 4,000 children who will start the 2013-14 school year.

Along with the donation drive, the organization is planning its Back 2 School Readiness fair where children will receive free health screenings, dental and vision exams and haircuts.

This year's fair will be held Aug. 4 between noon and 6:30 p.m. at My Sister's House at 921 Howell Mill Road in Midtown Atlanta.

The book bag drive ends July 26.

Supplies and book bags can be dropped of CRN's Roswell office at 11285 Elkins Rd, C-4, Roswell, GA 30076.
