ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -

Actress Gabrielle Union keeps a very busy schedule, but she made time to speak with CBS Atlanta News about her recent projects.

You may have even spotted Union in Atlanta while she was shooting Being Mary Jane for four months.

Union plays Mary Jane Paul, a successful TV news anchor and an entirely self-sufficient powerhouse who remains devoted to a family that doesn't share her motivation.

On the BET show, intense drama will unfold as Mary Jane juggles her life, her relationships, her work and commitments to her family.

Producers feel this is a plot that millions of modern women will both relate and respond to.

Union also spoke to CBS Atlanta News' Jennifer Banks about what she enjoyed in Atlanta when the cameras weren't rolling.

"I did a lot of eating," she joked. Union named several restaurants such as Urban Licks, St. Regis, Taka sushi and passion, Spondivits and STK.

Union also complemented the talented crews to actors she has worked with locally. She is proud to be a part of local projects that benefit Georgia's booming entertainment industry.

Recently, the actress was selected for People's Most Beautiful list for 2013.

"What are some of your beauty secrets?" Banks asked.

"I replaced sugar drinks years ago and that has made the biggest difference for me," she said.

Union also spoke about her boyfriend, 31-year-old NBA Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade.

"He keeps me on my toes and keeps me current," she jokes.

Rumors have swirled that Wade and Union may have gotten engaged after his third NBA championship win last week.

If the rumors are true, Union kept her lips sealed about the proposal.

She did, however, express how proud she is of Wade's talent on the court.
