ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -

On Wednesday, officers arrested an Atlanta street performer known as "Baton Bob."

Bob Jamerson was arrested around noon after a verbal altercation with security guards at 1197 Peachtree St., according to reports.

According to reports, Jamerson threatened a security guard and began screaming obscenities when he was asked to leave the area.

He was allegedly asked to stay off the property near Colony Place because he caused disturbances daily.

An off-duty Atlanta police officer working for Midtown Blue was called to the scene.

When the officer tried to speak with Jamerson he kicked his leg, according to reports.

Jamerson was charged with simple assault and obstruction of a law enforcement officer.

On the way to the Fulton County Jail, Jamerson apologized for his behavior. He said his aggression was because of how the security guard treated him, according to reports.

YouTube user DUBC33ATL uploaded video just before the arrest.
