Storm damage in Cobb County causing traffic delays

COBB COUNTY, GA (CBS46) -

A storm that passed through the Metro Atlanta area left trees, power lines and traffic lights down in Cobb County. It caused big traffic delays during rush hour on Friday evening.

Much of the damage was on Cobb Parkway near Cumberland Mall.

Sgt. Dana Pierce, with Cobb County Police, said traffic signals were out at Galleria Parkway at Akers Mill Road because of tree limbs.

He also reported that trees and wires were down at Covered Bridge Road at South Hurt.

There was also a tree reported down at Atlanta Road at Paces Ferry Road and large limbs on Paces Ferry at I-285 and at Cumberland at Mt. Wilkerson.
