Benefit held for injured Clayton Co. firefighters

CLAYTON COUNTY, GA (CBS46) -

A benefit was held on Saturday to help four Clayton County firefighters hurt when their fire engine collided with a tractor-trailer truck.

Hooters restaurant on Jonesboro Road in McDonough hosted a family Cornhole Tournament. The Georgia's Wounded Heroes organization sponsored the benefit.

Four firefighters were injured on June 5. They were responding to a 911 call when the engine collided with a tractor-trailer. The accident happened at the Old Dixie Road and Central Avenue in Forest Park.

The four firefighters were taken to the hospital. Officials said three were released that day, and one was in the hospital for several days.
