DEKALB COUNTY, GA (CBS46) -

A new portrait hangs in a DeKalb County precinct in honor of former Sheriff Derwin Brown.

Police Chief Cedric Alexander, DeKalb CEO Burrell Ellis and local lawmakers attended Saturday's unveiling at the Derwin Brown precinct.

"A great lieutenant in our DeKalb Police Department was a fallen guy that got assassinated when he won the sheriff race, but it was named in his honor, and it is a great place," said DeKalb Commissioner Stan Watson.

On Friday, DeKalb leaders celebrated the ribbon cutting of the new precinct.
