A home invasion in southeast Atlanta left a young mother of two dead. Police identified her as Artayvier "Camease" Miller, 30.
The shooting happened just before midnight Tuesday on Van Vleck Avenue.
The first officers to arrive at the home found Miller's body in a closet. She was shot to death.
"At this point in our investigation, it appears that the shooting is a result of a home invasion, but at this point we are trying to verify the information we have so far," said Atlanta police homicide detective Lt. Paul Geurucci.
There was one other person inside the home during the violent invasion.
Monica McGregor lives in the neighborhood.
"It's kind of scary to be so close to home. I heard it was a young lady that was killed and have two kids. I can relate to that because I'm young and I have two kids." said McGregor. "I would hate to be visiting someone and lose my life like that."
No arrests have been made.
