ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -

Atlanta Braves outfielder Jordan Schafer has been placed on the disabled list. Schafer was placed on the 15-day DL list with a right ankle contusion, according to a press release issued by the Braves.

Outfielder Joey Terdoslavich has been promoted to the major league club after having his contract purchased from Triple-A Gwinnett. He will wear uniform No. 25.

Terdoslavich, 24, hails from Sarasota, FL, and is the nephew of former major leaguer Mike Greenwell.

To make room for Terdoslavich on the 40-man roster, left-handed pitcher Jonny Venters has been transferred from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.

Terdoslavich was originally selected by the Atlanta Braves in the sixth round of the 2010 June free agent draft out of Long Beach State, CA.

He owns a .288 career batting average over four minor league seasons with 49 home runs and 245 RBI.
