6 arrested for DUI, pedestrian causes accident on I-75

CLAYTON COUNTY, GA (CBS46) -

Clayton County police spent much of the morning clearing an accident involving a pedestrian on I-75 south near I-285 that had all lanes blocked.

Around 4 a.m., officers found a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle which resulted in a multiple vehicle accident with approximately seven vehicles involved.

Several people were injured and taken to the hospital. No one was killed.

After further investigation, officers charged six drivers with driving under the influence. The pedestrian was charged with pedestrian in the road way.

Joseph Corey Daise, Tawan Lee Hayes, Najm Shamel Martinez, Joshua Nobles were arrested by Clayton County Police Department.  

Georgia State Patrol arrested Scott Kirk William, II.

Traffic was diverted from I-75 south at the C.W. Grant/Central Avenue exit while investigators were on scene.

The Clayton County Police Department would like to advise the public to be aware of drunk drivers during the holiday weekend and to report any reckless driving on the roadways.
