A group of 18-under softball players from Southeast Dougherty County are prepping to represent the entire state in a national tournament. The girls expressed excitement just for the opportunity to represent the state.
"It's an awesome experience," said catcher Sarah Arnold. "A lot of people don't get to do it. I am happy I am able to do it with the team I am able to do it with."
"I am so excited we are going to have so much fun," said shortstop Brianna Harpe. "We are trying to go all the way. we are representing the state of Georgia"
On Saturday, the girls held a car wash to help fund the trip. The tournament in Alexandria, Louisiana will be held Aug.2 - Aug. 6.
The 15-under team will play a game next weekend in Milledgeville to represent the state as well.
