The young boy was recognized by Lilburn city leaders with an honorary pin for his bravery under pressure.

On July 2, Alexander Hendry Betts IV held his cool and called 911 when his mother fell ill in their Lilburn home.

Karen Betts has epilepsy and started having a seizure.

His father Hendry Betts told CBS Atlanta News that his son called him once he realized that his mother was having a medical emergency, and that he told his son to call 911.

Zander was able to tell the dispatcher his mother's condition, and their location.

"I could not be more proud of him for being able to keep his cool. He's 10 years old and he held it together, and got his mother the care she needed," said Hendry Betts III.
