Days of heavy rains has put a damper on future events in Johns Creek.
The groundbreaking scheduled for the Veterans Memorial Walk set for Friday is being rescheduled to a future date.
The ground at the proposed site has become over saturated.
The Veterans Memorial Walk will be built on a unused portion of Newtown Park. The future site will consist of a landscaped trail with black granite memorials for each major conflict dating to World War I, brick sitting walls, flags for each branch of service and a gazebo will rest amid the walking paths.
Johns Creek Veteran Association accepted donations for the project which is estimated to cost about $300,000. No tax payer money is being used on this project.
A new date for the ceremony has not been announced.
