A 2-year-old girl was injured when an elderly man drove through a Georgia Power center in Jonesboro Thursday afternoon.
Jonesboro police said the 86-year-old pulled into a handicap parking spot outside the building on Smith Road. Somehow his foot hit the gas and he jumped the parking spot, over the sidewalk and into the plate glass window.
When the car entered the building, it went about eight feet before hitting the child, according to police.
The child was taken to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston. She was alert and conscious when she was taken to the hospital.
Police have removed the car from the building. No one else was injured.
CBSAtlanta.com has a crew on the way to the scene and will have more information as it becomes available.
