SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

One man was arrested and a second is being sought after Savannah-Chatham Mero Police SWAT Team and Central Precinct officers raided a Live Oak neighborhood barber shop and nearby house on Thursday.

Marlon Mozat Brown, 39, was arrested in the Celebrities Barber shop on Ash Street by the Tactical Investigation Unit of the Central Precinct Investigation Office. Patrol and Crime Suppression Unit officers and detectives, SCMPD canine officers and members of the Special Weapons and Tactics teams aided in the operation.

Brown has initially been charged with three illegal substances sales. Detectives are continuing to investigate after they found marijuana in the barber shop and various illegal substances, drug manufacturing equipment, a stolen weapon and a stolen computer in his residence on West 35th Street.

According to police, Brown has an extensive history of drug offenses and probation violations with SCMPD dating back to 1991 and has been convicted of felonies on five separate occasions.

Detectives are also asking for the public's assistance in locating Shawn Anthony March, 39, who is wanted on two additional sales offenses. Police say March has an extensive record of drugs, contempt of court and probation violations along with battery and obstruction charges. According to police, he was convicted on multiple charges and sentenced to multiple 10-year prison terms in 2008 but only served from August 2009 to January 2011.

March is a black male, about 5'7" and weighs about 200 lbs. According to police, he is believed to be armed.

Thursday's operation was the continuation of an investigation that started Jan. 9, 2012, after Larry Jiles was gunned down in front of the barber shop at the intersection of East 36th Street and Ash Street. Police say Jiles was standing beside a Pontiac Aztec he had driven to the shop when he was shot multiple times. According to police, the car contained several electronic components. Violent Crimes detectives are continuing to investigate that case.

Activities taking place in the shop and house have been a source of concern for some neighborhood residents. Central officers conducted undercover operations and surveillance on the shop, observing the purchase of drugs from inside it and a nearby house on East 35th Street. Police also searched that house on Thursday for drugs and weapons.

Anyone with information on March's location is asked to call Crimestoppers at 912.234.2020 or text CRIMES (274637).
