A man is recovering from his wounds after he is shot during a robbery outside his own home.

Bobby Swanger, a private in the Army Reserve, pulled up to his home on Traymore Drive around 4:15 a.m. Friday after a long night's work.

He began hoisting a TV out of his truck when another man pulled up in a car and pulled out a gun.

"A man approached him and told him to give him his wallet," said the victim's brother, Cody Swanger.

Cody was inside the house when he heard the unmistakable sound of two gunshots.

"He shot him in the shoulder, as my brother ran away, he got shot in the leg," Cody Swanger said.

As Bobby staggered into the house, Cody feared the worst.

"I heard my brother run frantically, yelling ‘call 911! Call 911!' I was praying to god that he was going to be okay," the victim's brother said.

Michaela Hampton, who lives next door, could not believe it when she found out her friend and neighbor was shot.

Hampton said she now worries about the safety her young son.

"I'm terrified. I'm going to myself some protection and I'm going to keep my doors locked and be mindful of anyone following me," Hampton said.

Police are looking into whether this incident may be related to other recent armed robberies.

Police ask anyone with information on the robberies to call 770-513-5319.

Anyone with information is urged to call the Gwinnett County police at 770-513-5319 or 770-513-5300.
