Director of Clayton County Senior Services charged with forgery, bribery

CLAYTON COUNTY, GA (CBS46) -

On Friday, the director of the Clayton County Senior Services turned herself in to police.

Mary Byrd was wanted on forgery and bribery charges, according to reports.

An investigation against Byrd was prompted after a police report was filed by the Clayton County Commission, in reference to a complaint of financial improprieties performed at the senior center.

Byrd was placed on paid administrative leave, according to Clayton County commission Chairman Jeffrey Turner.

Byrd has been charged with 13 counts of forgery and one count of bribery. This case is still an ongoing investigation.
