Cobb County schools restores $3 million to textbook budget

COBB COUNTY, GA (CBS46) -

The Cobb County School Board is considering restoring some $3 million it cut from its textbook budget.

In April, the board voted to slash money to buy math books for kids in Kindergarten through 12th Grade.

That stirred up quite a bit of debate, so the superintendent now wants to restore that money.

He said teachers and students need the books and other learning materials to succeed in math.

The money will come from a special option sales tax fund.
