Multiple car break-ins reported at SE Atlanta apartment complex

ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -

Atlanta police investigators are trying to determine who is responsible for burglarizing over 20 cars at the Auburn Glenn Apartments in southeast Atlanta.

The cars were reportedly burglarized overnight, and were all parked in the complex's gated parking deck. Residents tell CBS Atlanta they don't know how the individuals responsible were able to gain entry undetected, and cause damage to so many cars.

The complex does have security cameras, and residents are hopeful they may have captured images of those responsible for the crime.

A statement was released by apartment management Friday afternoon:

The security of our residents at Auburn Glenn and of their personal property is of the utmost importance to us, and we are doing everything we can to aid the authorities in their investigation of this incident. As we work to help the police find the person responsible, we will also work with our internal Loss Prevention Officers to evaluate ways to strengthen the security of our community.
