The suspect in the death of an Atlanta pastor's brother has waived his first court appearance.

Jerrick Jackson, 46, was killed on May 7 outside of his home on Lowe Street. Jackson is the brother of the Rev. Wiley Jackson of Gospel Tabernacle Church.

On Thursday, police arrested Alejandro "Big Poppa" Pitts, 18, and charged him with murder and armed robbery.

Jerrick Jackson had just returned to his home on Lowe Street with his wife when they were robbed by several men at gunpoint upon exiting their car.

Jerrick Jackson was shot and killed when the robbers attempted to force him and his wife into their home.

Pitts was taken to the Fulton County Jail and on Friday, waived his first court appearance. He will remain in jail without a bond.

"We are aware of the identities of the other subjects and we will find and arrest them in the very near future" said US Marshals Task Force Supervisory Inspector Gavin Duffy.

The U.S. Marshals office identified the men responsible as gang members.

More arrests are forthcoming as the investigation continues.
