Man sentenced for kidnapping, robbery, rape charges

Posted: Updated:

A man who pleaded guilty to kidnapping, robbery and rape has been sentenced to serve the entire 40-year term.

A Davidson County judge sentenced Rony Sorto to serve 40 years in prison after he pleaded guilty on Tuesday.

He and his co-defendant, Olbin Euceda, were charged in a series of robberies, home invasions and sexual assaults during November 2011.

In one of the scariest cases, the two men forced a mother into her home on Bell Road as she unloaded groceries and sexually assaulted her 11-year-old daughter.

Euceda was convicted in that case last fall, but still faces trial on several other charges.
