Emergency management was carefully monitoring the Etowah River on Wednesday.
As of evening, a flood warning remained in effect until further notice, for the river near East Canton.
Early in the afternoon, residents in Ball Ground were dealing with flooding and mudslides. Crews cleaned up a couple of small mudslides on Conns Creek Road.
Residents along and near Conns Creek Road were dealing with flooding from the Long Swamp Creek, near where it meets the Etowah River.
Joe Handy said in his 14 years of living in his home, there was only one prior time he saw the flooding as bad it was Wednesday afternoon. The water covered his gardens, machines and he had to rescue his animals from the rising waters.
Emergency management said the roads were clear of water and mud by Wednesday evening.
