A man who escaped from a work detail near the Bledsoe County Correctional Complex Sunday night has been arrested in Davidson County.
Jeffery Lynn Carter, 32, was arrested without incident about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at a home in Madison.
According to prison officials, Carter was a minimum-custody trusty and was working on the prison's farm when he left about 7 p.m. Carter jumped from the tractor he was driving and ran into a wooded area.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation then placed Carter on its Most Wanted List.
Carter had been serving a 21-year sentence for convictions in Davidson County of aggravated robbery and attempted aggravated robbery. His sentence was set to expire in 2018.
Carter is now jailed at the Riverbend Maximum Security Prison and could face an additional five years behind bars for his escape.
Officials said charges could also be placed against possible accomplices in the escape.
