The defense in the Andrea Sneiderman perjury trial wrapped up its second day of calling witnesses to testify on Wednesday.
The majority of those who took the stand were friends of Andrea Sneiderman who testified she was happily married to her husband, Rusty.
Rusty Sneiderman was shot to death by his wife's boss, Hemy Neuman, in November of 2010. Andrea Sneiderman and Neuman were reportedly having an affair. Neuman was found guilty but mentally ill in the murder.
Wednesday began with the defense calling Andrea Sneiderman's rabbi to the stand. Hirsch Minkowitz said he was with Andrea Sneiderman when she was questioned by Dunwoody police on Jan. 4, the day Neuman was arrested.
"She became agitated and started to, in a raised voice, saying 'I want to know about Hemy Neuman. What's going on with him? Why has he not been in here to be investigated, to be interviewed?'" testified Minkowitz. "'I tried calling him the morning of the murder and he was nowhere to be found,'" recalled the rabbi of Andrea Sneiderman's statements to police.
The defense then called numerous witnesses to the stand in an effort to prove Andrea Sneiderman and her husband, in fact, had a good marriage.
"They were always happy, communicating with each other, very open, joking," said Samantha Archer-Wright, a former nanny for the Sneiderman couple.
Andrea Sneiderman is facing 13 charges, including perjury. She's accused of lying to police and in court when questioned about the alleged affair and her husband's murder.
Friends testified they sensed no tension between Andrea and Rusty Sneiderman in the days and months before his murder.
"There was this little sparkle in her eye when she was talking about him and you could just really hear the pride," testified Ben Nadler, who went to the same synagogue as the Sneidermans.
Andrea Sneiderman has still not told the judge whether she will testify in her own defense.
Testimony resumes Thursday at 9 a.m.
CBS Atlanta News has a reporter in the courtroom and CBSAtlanta.com will have more information throughout the trial.
