Rockdale County deputies arrested three adults for allegedly imprisoning three kids in a Conyers home.
The children are siblings ages 8, 10 and 15. They were in a house on Hull Road in Conyers.
Deputies arrested Lev Dzuba, 37, Alina Dzuba, 20 and Natalia Mellon, 26, of Lilburn. All three adults are related. Deputies would not comment on the relationship between the adults and the children.
A neighbor said Lev Dzuba and his now deceased wife adopted the three children from overseas about a year ago.
"His wife was battling cancer and passed away last year, and it was unfortunate that it was right after they adopted those three children," said Laura Slaughter.
A member of the Division of Family and Children Services and a deputy went to the home to perform a welfare check. According to the sheriffs' office, it was then they discovered the conditions inside the home.
Slaughter said she never noticed anything wrong with the children, but she had not seen them recently.
The three adults face charges of cruelty to children and false imprisonment.
The children are in protective custody.
