ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -

The Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office has released the identity of a man killed during a shooting in southwest Atlanta Saturday evening.

The victim was Xavier Shivers of Union City, according to the medical examiner's office. He was shot in the chest.

The 21-year-old was shot at 3612 Ginnis Rd. at about 5:30 p.m. in an apparent shoot out.

Police discovered what sparked the shooting between Shivers and Nicholas Corwin Sanders, 22.

Investigators served warrants on Sanders as he was in Grady Hospital receiving treatment where a bullet had grazed his head.

Both men were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, where Shivers later died.

Atlanta homicide units are handling the investigation.
