No damage reported after tornado warning

CARROLL COUNTY, GA (CBS46) -

A tornado warning that lasted for about an hour on Sunday night caught Carroll County residents off guard, but local law enforcement officials said there were no reports of damage.

In downtown Carrollton, Jim Collins and other University of West Georgia students gathered at a local Irish pub to watch the Braves game and ride out the storm.

Collins said that some people who lived in apartments above the downtown square's shops came to the bar just in case they needed to take shelter because the bar has a basement.

"[We were] slightly cautious, but we didn't think it was too serious because all we saw was some major rain and heavy wind and it stopped after a while - it wasn't really anything too serious," Collins said. "I haven't heard of any damage around here."
