Atlanta police are looking for members of the public to participate in their Citizens Police Academy.
The police department says the academy gives it a chance to educate the public about the department's operations and also gives police a chance to get feedback from citizens.
The Citizens Police Academy includes 30 hours of classes broken down into three-hour sessions one night a week over seven weeks. It includes courses in crime scenes, a department overview and a zone ride-a-long. Classes begin in October 2.
Participants must live in Atlanta, must be 21 and can't have any felony or misdemeanor convictions within a year of applying.
The Atlanta Police Department has nearly 2,000 sworn officers, making it the largest law enforcement agency in Georgia.
