DEKALB COUNTY, GA (CBS46) -

Peachtree Creek is coming out of its bank in several spots in DeKalb County. The flooding was reported around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.

Homes on North Hill Drive, just off of North Druid Hills Road that back up onto the creek had flooded backyards. Some yards have several feet of water in them.

But, neighbors tell CBS Atlanta that this is an area that is used to flooding. Many of the homes are designed to withstand flooding and prevent water from getting into homes.

DeKalb County was under a flash flood warning early Wednesday afternoon as up to 3 inches of rain fell in a short period of time. The warning has since been canceled as the rain has ended.

Isolated showers will remain possible in DeKalb County through sunset.
