Bullets pierced through the home of Tracey King Cannon early Friday morning, hitting him in his bedroom.
His mother, Betty Polk, said she watched her son stumble out of his room covered in blood, and he fell to the hallway floor.
"He said, ‘I am shot,' he said ‘call 911, call the ambulance'" Polk said.
Cannon died during surgery after being transported to Grady Memorial Hospital.
Also inside the home on the 4800 block of Haymarket Trail was Polk's 82-year-old mother and her granddaughter.
Polk has this message for her son's killer.
"Whoever did it needs to come forth and turn themselves in," Polk said. "It's not right for them to go around and kill people like that. They need to get caught, because they could do the same thing to somebody else and it's not right. Yeah, I am angry cause my son is gone."
