Pastor found guilty on child molestation, sexual battery charges

KENNESAW, GA (CBS46) -

A Kennesaw pastor has been found guilty on charges of child molestation and sexual battery against a child.

Rev. John Pinkston was the founder and a pastor at Congregation of God Seventh Day on South Main Street in Kennesaw.

Pinkston was accused of molesting a 6-year-old child, while at the church, between the dates of July 17, 2013 and August 22, 2013. The child notified her parents and they contacted police.

Pinkston faces a maximum sentence of 40 years in prison when he is sentenced.

The Kennesaw Police Department is asking that if anyone has any further information involving Pinkston to please call 770-422-2505 and speak with a detective.
