The new Atlanta Hawks head coach has been arrested for DUI.
Coach Mike Budenholzer was stopped Wednesday night by Georgia State Patrol for no tail lights.
The trooper smelled alcohol and administered a field sobriety test. Budenholzer refused a breath test.
Budenholzer told the trooper he only had one glass of wine.
Budenholzer was placed under arrest and was charged with DUI and a tail light violation.
"Bud made us aware of the situation last night," said the President of Basketball Operations/General Manager Danny Ferry in a statement. "We take this matter seriously and have been in constant communication with Coach Budenholzer throughout this situation. We support him during this legal process and will let that take its course."
Budenholzer left the San Antonio Spurs at the end of the 2013 NBA Playoffs and was named the new head coach of the Hawks.
