World's largest passenger plane takes off from Hartsfield-Jackson

ATLANTA (CBS46) -

Korean Air flew its first A380 flight from Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport on Sunday.

The A380 is the world's largest passenger airliner. It has a double deck, four engines and has a wingspan of 262 feet.

A representative for the airline said its passenger traffic from Atlanta is growing at 10 percent yearly and the large plane makes sense for long-term growth.

The airline is scheduled to operate A380 flights Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays from Atlanta to Incheon International Airport, South Korea. Daily flights are expected to begin in October.
