UNION COUNTY, GA (CBS46) -

Union County Sheriff Mack Mason said Frank Miller, 80, was arrested for shooting and killing his daughter, Collen Gant, 59.

The incident happened early Sunday morning on Miller Cove Road.

Mason said Gant called police reporting a problem in her home.

Moments later, dispatchers heard several shots in the background, and the phone line was disconnected.

Mason said deputies arrived at the home and found Miller, a retired Florida police officer, barricaded inside the house with weapons and multiple rounds of ammunition.

Miller refused to come out of the home and the Fannin County Sheriff's SWAT team was called, Mason said.

Police used a stun gun on Miller and took him into custody after a four-hour standoff.

Mason said Miller was arrested in the past and alcohol is believed to be involved in this incident.

Detectives said Miller also shot his 19-year-old great-grandson in this incident.
