The northeast Atlanta man who discovered a man's body inside a sleeping bag early Tuesday morning told CBS Atlanta News that he does not believe the man died of natural causes.

Antonio Darden called 911 at about 12:30 a.m. after he discovered what appeared to be a body in the parking lot of his apartment building in the 1600 block of DeKalb Avenue.

"Around the sleeping bag, it was wrapped with a water hose, which was just like the strangest thing," said Darden.

The man appeared to be in his 40s or early 50s, said Atlanta Police Homicide Commander Paul Guerrucci, who would not confirm that a garden hose was found wrapped around the body.

"I can't go into all the details right now," said Guerrucci. "But right now there's nothing that's overly suspicious. However, we can't take any chances, so we will process accordingly."

Darden said the deceased man's clothing was distinct.

"From what I could tell, there was like a white and black striped shirt, like a referee shirt," Darden said. "That was definitely kind of strange."

"It's a little weird," said Alvin Diec, who also saw the body. "This kind of stuff doesn't really happen around here, so I think everybody was sort of shook up a little bit."

"To have the homicide and the processing team come out, it was just like real life ‘Criminal Minds' or like a television show," said Darden. "It was just the strangest thing."
