ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -

CBS46 is excited to introduce a new anchor for its evening newscasts. Scott Light will join Stephany Fisher and Tracye Hutchins in bringing Atlantans their news every weeknight.

Scott comes to CBS46 from KPNX-TV in Phoenix, where he worked as an anchor for ten years. He's also known for his outstanding work in the field – often anchoring special projects and delivering live reports on subjects ranging from breaking news to sports to politics.

"It may not be my home state of Virginia, but this move to Georgia certainly feels like coming home," said Scott. "As a broadcaster from the south, I know Atlanta is THE headquarters for TV news. And when I married a firebrand from Tennessee it became an even bigger goal to work and live there. I simply can't wait to be part of the team at CBS46 that's already building something really special. I was raised in the south on sweet tea, SEC football and ACC basketball, so I am excited to raise my kids in a world-class southern city, and I am thrilled to call Atlanta home."

Scott's distinguished reputation is built upon more than 20 years of experience in the broadcast industry, which included stops in Raleigh, Salt Lake City and Richmond. His professional achievements include a long list of Emmys, as well as the Arizona Associated Press Broadcasters Association award for Anchor of the Year.

CBS46 News Director Lane Michaelsen says bringing Scott in to join the team was an opportunity he couldn't miss. "When you start a nationwide search for a main anchor in the ninth market in the country, you hope that someone of Scott's experience, knowledge and talent is available," said Michaelsen. "Scott is not just an anchor but a reporter, storyteller and leader, and he's coming to Atlanta for all the right reasons: to join a great team, be closer to family and to dedicate himself to a community. Scott, Stephany Fisher and Tracye Hutchins are a powerful trio who will bring Atlanta the news as it happens right now, plus powerful stories that are connected to the community."

In his spare time, Scott enjoys giving back to the community, volunteering his time with Aid to Adoption of Special Kids, and frequently serving as a guest speaker for schools and charities.
