The man who entered Ronald E. McNair Discovery Academy in August and fired shots at police officers waived his preliminary hearing.
The hearing for Michael Brandon Hill was set for Thursday at 9 a.m.
The defense continues to investigate Hills' mental health history, according to Claudia S. Saari an interim circuit defender.
Hill is charged with a long list of crimes, including aggravated assault, terroristic threats and acts and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, after police say he stormed into the school with his AK-47 taking hostages.
According to police, Hill fired at least 12 rounds at police as they entered the school to try and end the situation.
