Imagine if every Sunday night, you tuned in to watch The Walking Dead as part of your homework assignment. Well, now you can. The University of California Irvine is offering a free, massive online open course (MOOC) based on the series shot in Atlanta.
The eight-week course is called "Society, Science, Survival: Lessons from AMC's 'The Walking Dead.'"
Four faculty members promise to cover such academic topics as: Maslow's hierarchy of needs; social order and structures; social identity, roles and stereotyping; nutrition; and managing stress.
