Mother says stranger tried to steal young sons from home
DEKALB COUNTY, GA (CBS46) -
A shaken up DeKalb County mother told CBS Atlanta's Sonia Moghe exclusively about how a man slipped into her home Friday afternoon and tried to take her two six and three-year-old sons.
The mother said her six-year-old had just thrown something away in an outside trash can, and hadn't shut the door properly, when a man came into her home. The mother said that man did not seem well, and grabbed her sons by the arm and tried to walk out with them.
Neighbor Devon Williams said he saw the man, but didn't realize what was happening until later.
"I was outside sitting on my porch and I seen a man walk up to this door right here, and tried to open the door," Williams said. "I'm thinking it was somebody that knew somebody."
But when Williams saw the man wearing the six-year-old's back pack and holding the two children's arms, he knew something wasn't right.
"I was like, ‘What is he doing, what is he going to do with these kids? Why is he taking these kids?'" Williams said.
Williams said the mother chased the man out of her house.
DeKalb County Police eventually arrested Musa Lang, 32, in connection with the incident and charged him with kidnapping and burglary.
