Two people are injured and another is on the run after they crashed a minivan they were traveling in to elude police.
Atlanta officers used K-9 units to search the area around Waters Road S.W. and Hapeville Road S.W. to try and locate the man.
Atlanta police told CBS Atlanta News that an officer near a safety checkpoint noticed the white Plymouth van cut its lights off at a stop sign. The vehicle then sped off from the intersection.
The van was found a short time later crashed into a several trees near a hairpin curve off Waters Road S.W. The incident happened around 3 a.m. in southeast Atlanta.
Two men in the van were injured. They were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital. One was in stable condition suffering from leg injuries. The other was in serious condition and underwent emergency surgery according to Atlanta police. The third male ran from the scene.
Officers found two handguns in the van which was stolen reported stolen out of DeKalb County Sunday.
