COWETA COUNTY, GA (CBS46) -

Two students and a deputy were taken to the hospital after a chain-reaction crash on Carrolton Highway.

According to reports, deputy Donald Patterson, 46, was stopped on Hwy 16 attempting to make a left turn onto Glover Road when he was hit.

Investigators said the bus was pushed into the patrol car after Michael Knight's truck rear-ended the bus.

Patterson and two children were taken to Piedmont-Newnan with minor injuries.

Both the school bus driver, Kelley Congo and Knight were charged with following too closely.

The crash is still under investigation.
